I received two CDs from Bristol’s Yo No Se, so I decided to review them both together, as I would say the same for both. This band is heavy on the grunge vibe. That wouldn’t normally be an issue for me (as my late teens were spent in the late ’80s /early ’90s living in the Pacific Northwest), but it feels like they lean into the metal side than the garage punk side of things which is not where my interests lie. It’s like they take all of the metallic-sounding aspects of Nirvana but leave out the sense of melody or punk urgency. It can get a little dry. This isn’t to say that I didn’t enjoy a song or two on these albums; it was just too far and few between for me. –Ty Stranglehold (Stolen Body, stolenbodyrecords.co.uk)
