What a joy this record is. This Michigan three-piece plays an utterly shambolic blend of rock music: imagine a group that’s overjoyed to be getting a handle on their newly adapted respective instruments and you’ll get the idea: simple arrangements and deadpan, slyly funny lyrics. Side B is a little more droney/less single note-y, making this one weirdly like My War if you squint and you’re kind. Sure, my Black Flag analogy is a heck of a stretch, but then you’ll hear the unlisted cover of “Nervous Breakdown” and it’ll all come together. –Michael T. Fournier (thexv.bandcamp.com)
