WORM SUICIDE: Blacking Out: LP

Mar 17, 2021

Austin’s Worm Suicide reminds me of some of the better Confederacy of Scum bands from the 1990s. The vocals and country influence link well to classic groups like Cocknoose, although Worm Suicide is a bit more melodic. The lovably tasteless cover art suggests that the lyrical content would contain plenty of shock value, but instead the lyrics are more of the typical “go get fucked” punk patois variety. Their cover of the 1980s hit “Safety Dance” is truly brilliant. My kind of record for sure, Blacking Out is well produced, well executed, and one hell of a good time.–Art Ettinger (Wise Ass)
