WASTE MAN: One Day It’ll All Be You: LP

Second-album-era Meat Puppets steal the Minutemen’s groove aesthetic to cover the psychedelic soundtrack of some long-lost ’70s road trip flick while the secret love child of Henry Rollins and Tomata du Plenty carnival barks over the top. This works surprisingly well, especially if one is fond of SST’s mid-’80s era, right before Greg Ginn decided to dump literally hundreds of mediocre quasi-jazz/improv “jam” records into the label’s catalogue and forever tank the quality of its output. –Jimmy Alvarado (Feel It)
