VINNUM SABBATHI: Of Dimensions & Theories: CD

Sep 22, 2022

I’m not sure if I’m the right person to be reviewing this, or if this is the right place for the review. Let’s give it a go. My mind wants to say “stoner rock” because I can imagine how interesting this sounds when the psychedelics are hitting just right, but that term seems to have been co-opted by jock metal dudes who go to the desert to eat peyote or something. That is not this. Vinnum Sabbathi brings instrumental guitar-based soundscapes woven together with samples from the NASA archives, among other places. Somewhere between Pink Floyd and Butthole Surfers on my trip-out meter. I would enjoy this more as background vibes, as my attention span does not allow for songs that clock in between five and ten minutes a piece. –Ty Stranglehold (Stolen Body, stolenbodyrecords.co.uk)
