One of the best parts about punk rock in the ‘90s was the abundance of cheap CD compilations. These were usually label-specific, but not always. It was definitely an easy way to hear a lot of different bands without having to shell out for entire albums from each of them. Ah, those heady, pre-internet days. Where was I? Oh yeah, this here label sampler from Concrete Jungle celebrating “13 years of punk and hardcore.” There is some pretty great stuff here. Adolescents, Death By Stereo, Modern Pets, and The Generators, among others. I’m not sure what the price point is on this, but there is definitely a lot of good stuff to check out. Most of it lives in the melodic hardcore territory. Thirteen years of running a label is a pretty sweet achievement. Congrats to Concrete Jungle. –Ty Stranglehold (Concrete Jungle)
