TRUST #222, €4, 8½” x 11”, printed, 64 pgs.

In print since the summer of 1986, Trust is a German-language zine that focuses on punk/hardcore/underground music and culture. I don’t read German, which means I don’t fully grasp, like, ninety-eight percent of this zine. However, it looks really cool with its crisp black-and-white layout, stark graphics, and frenetic live music photos. From its visuals and sprinkling of English, I can say for certain that Trust #222 is full of band interviews (Ancst, Schwach, Lobsterbomb), reviews (books, fanzines, music), and a lengthy article about Rich Kids On LSD. Plus, there’s a three-paneled comic, also all in German, titled “Paula in Feminismus.” (If you can’t tell, “feminismus” is German for “feminism.”) So, Trust #222 is an intriguing grab bag of German punk goodness. If you can read German, I trust you’ll really get into Trust. –Gina Murrell (Hamburger Straße 243, 28205 Bremen, Germany).
