Beer vs. Weed: battle of the common (non-gender specific) dude’s favorite indulgences. Trappist is the beer-themed crossover band that has poured you such delicious, heavy pints as “This Means Wort” and “No Corporate Beer” while Connoisseur is the weed-themed sludge-punk band that has passed you addictive strains like “Born in a Bong” and “Pot Hole.” It’s a battle that everyone wins. However, as a documented enthusiast of both non-corporate beer and Trappist, I’m slightly biased. Their side of this split is brilliant—clever and arrogant beer-centric lyrics paired with deliciously thrashy crossover punk.
