Each volume of this zine collects check-ins with six artists from the editor’s femme/non-binary community, focusing in particular on what it’s like to make music during the pandemic. I like the idea, but with only a page (or quarter-page if you’re going by full-sheet standards) dedicated to most of the artists, it’s hard to get a sense of each one, especially as many artists at large are sharing the same struggles with the pandemic. The interviews read more or less like short text conversations; this being, I suppose, the “check-in” element. And, lacking any information about how to get in touch with any of the artists, I couldn’t check out their varied projects if I tried.
