This is a great little split from these bands hailing respectively from Asheville, N.C.; Denton, Texas; and Washington, D.C. My most significant complaint is that I really, really, really, really want more from each of the bands on this. As it stands, we only get two songs apiece. All three have a pummeling post-hardcore sound, and if one were not in the know, one might think the entire cassette was a single band. The whole thing works together beautifully, like the perfect lineup for a basement show. To risk irresponsibly painting all three bands with broad strokes that fail to identify the subtle differences between them, I think of The Birthday Party gone crust punk, but maybe not as dark and weird. This is a six-song rager and I need to hear more stuff from all of them. –The Lord Kveldulfr (Godless America)
