Tongue Party is an intensely odd stoner rock band from Minneapolis. There are marginally accessible moments interspersed between the complex, multi-layered levels of noise, but only fans of the sludge subgenre will get it. It’s all a bit over my head, but I do appreciate it when this style is played by punks instead of metal dudes. Heavily influenced by The Melvins and Eyehategod, Tongue Party certainly has serious musicianship going for it. Recommended for fans of the aforementioned bands, but all others might get as confused as I did. –Art Ettinger (Learning Curve)
