TIM HOLEHOUSE: Very: LP

May 24, 2022

Since 2011, Tim has been releasing albums in his “A-Z Series.” Very is the release of the letter “V,” a “best of” collection spanning a track apiece from every release in the series thus far. It ranges from deep, gruff, acoustic Tom Waits-style ballads, to distorted punk jams, to classic porch blues. It’s a single human stretching themselves and their guitar as far as their creativity can possibly go—a length that changes with each release. There are even a couple electro songs reminiscent of Nine Inch Nails, and the obligatory live tracks for a musician who—and this is not an exaggeration—never stops touring. The standout track is “Gainesville City Limits,” a Springsteen-esque love song about everyone’s favorite Fest city. A truly remarkable musical feat somehow condensed in one album. –Donna Ramone (TPOS)
