TERMINAL LICKS: Self-titled: 7”

Sep 22, 2016

This is a five-song single from an Ontario area band working a power pop-with-punk-energy angle. I have gotten incredibly picky about this style in the last decade and a half and this falls squarely into the “just okay” category. Songs are all right, vocals are all right, the recording quality is too lo-fi, but anyone who is just crazy for mid- to fast-tempo poppy punk would probably like this fine. Not as good as, say, The Cry or Juvie, but a notch above most bands doing this kind of thing these days. –Mike Frame (It’s Trash, itstrashrecords.bandcamp.com)
