Swansea Sound are smart, sardonic, silly, politically pointed (against the fascists and other weirdos), and utterly charming, and make lush, effortless punk pop you could listen to for days on end. Not surprising, given the roster of musicians involved, which includes members of The Pooh Sticks, Talulah Gosh, and Heavenly. I want to quote the lyrics at length, but I also don’t want to ruin the joy of discovery. I’ll say this: I didn’t think it was possible for an album to properly and charismatically address This Weird Time We’re Living In Right Now—the intense political/social challenges, the ordinary personal trials, and the stuff that falls outside and between.
