SUBTERRAIN #90, $5, 6” x 9”, color magazine, 112 pgs.

May 24, 2022

Normally a literary magazine with each issue featuring a different theme, this winter issue features the general “best of” of the year, all the award-winning poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and general commentary. The standouts for me were one mother’s account of raising a child with a stutter, analyzing what and where a stutter can come from, and a non-fiction piece of a man’s travels to different countries, exploring human consciousness, and his own emotions when confronted with the Great Pyramid of Giza, scaling it, and even going down into its depths. The issue had a slow start, but all of the contributors in the back end of this really knocked it out of the park. –Tricia Ramos (subTerrain, PO Box 3008 Station Terminal, Vancouver BC, V6B 3X5, Canada)
