This eight-song cassette is full-on ‘90s screamo. I was a big fan of the genre for a long time but all the shitty early 2000s Hot Topic screamo really turned me off to the genre on the whole. However, after this dormant period in my life it’s nice to hear a band bringing back the sound of bands like Envy and Portraits Of Past. If you’ve heard ‘90s screamo then you know what you’re getting. Subjects Rulers isn’t necessarily unique but it’s too bad these guys broke up, because I really dig what they’re laying down. –Kurt Morris (IFB)
