STRAYS OF THE WORLD: Chaos All: CD

Sep 22, 2022

A one-year-old, one man band dabbling in the darker parts of alt rock. Led by Eloy Lasanta, he covers guitar, bass, drum (machine?), keys? and vocals. He claims inspiration from artist like Fiona Apple, Prince, Childish Gambino, Smashing Pumpkins, 311, Trent Reznor, et cetera. It’s dynamic and interesting for a one man band, though it’s also putting me to sleep. There’s some weird disjointedness in many of the songs, as if they’re still just sketched out ideas instead of final products. Many of the songs are four minutes long, with one exceeding the six minute mark. What I’ll say is that it’s weird and interesting, especially if you’re really into Siouxsie And The Banshees and smoky ’80s goth vibes. Eloy’s voice is super clear and very nice, but this is not my thing. Give it a shot if you’re into to weird experimental hip hop/pop/goth/industrial. –Kayla Greet (Self-released)
