STONER COP: Government Shutdown: LP

Jan 21, 2022

From the weed-scented alleys of San Pedro emerges Stoner Cop, bleary-eyed and with only half an eighteen pack, but still ready to party and rage. Ten or so songs in just about as many minutes of manically charged paranoid punk with that distinct old school South Bay sound. I could personally do without the cringey “dub” songs but the good outweighs the bad here. Speaking of good, the cover artwork parodying an infamous Black Flag T-shirt is sheer genius and belongs on a tee itself. With any luck these guys will be playing gigs so we may all partake of their live set, but until then hide yo’ weed and hide yo’ bong because Stoner Cop is smoking up everything out here. –Juan Espinosa (Cali Mucho,
