This is the second album from this Chicago, Ill. group. The songs are soaked in dry guitar energy. The vocals and unorthodox time signatures work forward mechanically while a warbly and perfectly distorted bass provides chug in the machine and occasionally brings in a new melody. “OW” kicks off the album in high gear. It’s a punker with the bass taking on more distortion than the guitar. “Spa Schedule” shows the band’s sound holding up at slower speeds. “Discomfort Is Palpable” goes fast and has a playful wreck creating a cacophonous din for the band to emerge from. The band plays well and has some fun along the way. The sound is akin to The Slits or Mission Of Burma. A must-hear. –Billups Allen (Feel It, feelitrecordshop.com)
