This is a collection of different Special Moves recordings from different sessions with friends and guests, and the result is a tape chock full of really great, super catchy lo-fi bedroom rock and pop songs. Comprised of ten tracks total, I can see the direct influence from the lo-fi scene that perpetuated in the early ‘90s with lots of bands doing home recording on 4-track recorders, yet this sounds fresher and brighter, very much living in the current moment. Heartfelt, personal, and tuneful with a mix of synth- and guitar-based songs and a few Weakerthans covers mixed in.
