SPARE CHANGE #38: SELF-PUBLISHING DURING WARTIME, $3 ppd. or trade, 44 pgs.

This zine contains a few essays, a few poems, and a few collages, which adds up to a surprising amount of content. It reads a little bit like an aging punk uncle’s Facebook posts—cynical and angry but without much purpose, political without a real unitary political bent. We know who’s behind the capitalist conspiracy—it’s just a matter of doing something about it—and I refuse to believe people are as stupid as the kind of writing that claims that Americans are by and large ignorant would try to lead me to. Sure, most of ’em are, but you’ve gotta have a little more faith in people to get by. –jimmy cooper (Spare Change, PO Box 6023, Chattanooga, TN 37401)
