SKOLD: Dies Irae: CD

May 25, 2021

Tim Skold plays all the instruments on this and handles production, too. Industrial music with less-than-cheery lyrical content, but you probably wouldn’t be expecting that anyway. There is some metal guitar tossed in, but the electronic undercurrent is always there. Vocally, I am hearing a bit of Peter Murphy but I’m not sure he went as dark as songs like “Love Is a Disease” and “Kill Yourself.” Maybe less than ideal for party music at your summer BBQ. –Sean Koepenick (Cleopatra,
