The Swedes have proven themselves adept at creating high quality versions of some of America’s best bands and styles of punk, and exporting them back to us, as if to say, “It ain’t that hard, dummies. Just get some government arts funds and try and beat this.” Sista Brytet is Swedish pop punk, sung in Swedish. Internalizing the best of Teenage Bottlerocket and others, they crank out an efficient—if derivative—import version of a classic American export.
