SHAKEWELLS, THE: Who the Hell Are?: CD

Nov 20, 2023

Fairly standard garage punk. There are sprinkles of surf, pop, punk’n’roll, and the general greaser sound. It’s lo-fi, dirty, and a little sinister with the keyboard. I’d say a mix of The Cramps and Murder City Devils. They’ve got that eerie tone that lies just under some grungy distortion with the occasional guitar solo. Songs are fast and to the point. Lyrics focus on things like monsters, Voodoo queens, and witchcraft. Just in time for spooky season, though I’d bet it’s Halloween every day for this group. –Kayla Greet (Well Shaken Music)
