SEWER CATS, THE: Cute Aggression: LP/CD

May 24, 2022

The Sewer Cats knock it out of the park with this record. The duo has a warm, fuzzy garage punk sound. It’s perfect for the delivery of some barnstorming tracks as well as the handful which take a step back from the in-your-face approach. I’m always fascinated by drummers who can play and sing at the same time; it seems like the ultimate challenge for a musician. However, Cass does it extremely well as she unleashes rock solid beats whilst letting loose a voice which sends shivers right through to my core. Add to this a bunch of massive riffs and some moments of searing guitar and The Sewer Cats has nailed it on Cute Aggression. I’d like to give a final nod towards the excellent song “Shit in Your Hands & Clap,” which, even at the ripe old age of fifty six, makes me chuckle on each play. –Rich Cocksedge (TNS, [email protected], tnsrecords.co.uk)
