SENDERS, THE: All Killer No Filler (1977-2001): 2 x CD

Mar 10, 2023

This was my first time ever hearing of this band, and they absolutely rule. The band looks like grown-up versions of the kids from The Outsiders. This is pure greaser, rockabilly punk’n’roll. The collection of songs on disc one play in no particular order, which is cool, because if you went to see them live, I imagine the songs would be played out in a similar fashion. Disc two has their Seven Song Super Single tracks on it and finishes with a handful of live tracks featuring Johnny Thunders. This live set is pretty phenomenal. It might be some of the best guitars I’ve heard Thunders play on besides the L.A.M.F. record. Yes, I said that. I can’t help but imagine what this combination of players could have done in the studio. My imaginary Senders influence list consists of Leatherface, The Dirtbombs, The Blasters, The Delta 72, and Reigning Sound. Send it. –Ryan Nichols (Left For Dead, [email protected])
