This is a reissue of Scrap’s first LP from 1990, originally released on Be Yourself Records. If this was a new release, I would call it a throwback to mid-2000s hardcore. Since it is not, I will refer to it as pan-hardcore, as it feels like a sampling of all hardcore genres sloppily rolled into one. It is heavy on 7 Seconds with some powerviolence elements tossed in and a d-beat aesthetic. The reissue presented a missed opportunity to remaster the album because it would hit so much harder if the guitar was louder in the mix. –Liz Jones (Refuse, [email protected], refusemusic.net)
