SCIENTISTS: Negativity: LP

Jan 05, 2022

…And just like that, a new Scientists album pops outta the sky and bonks you hard on the noggin. This is their first album in nearly thirty-five years (!) and they sound as great as ever. Continuing their sludge through a punk-inflected swampland, the production job’s clean, but the tunes are ever-grimy and they still sound like the Birthday Party being dragged through parts of Louisiana that haven’t yet been trod upon by humankind, which is no small feat seeing as they’re from Perth. My ears are gonna incur some major damage from repeated listens of this at exceedingly loud volumes. –Jimmy Alvarado (In The Red)
