Seven rage-filled, fast, and loud hardcore songs plus one Bad Brains cover. Musically, this album is a blend of punk, emo, and hardcore, which I thoroughly appreciated because most of the time I can’t understand hardcore lyrics. If the lyrics are unintelligible, hardcore becomes frustratingly confusing. The listener is left feeling vaguely angry but directionless. I will often ask myself, “What are they angry about?” with no solid answer. Much to my delight, the lyrics here are the keystone to Margins. The overall message is class conscious solidarity against capitalist imperialism. Pairing that with hardcore fits. Everyone should feel angry AF about that.
