REVENGE OF THE PSYCHOTRONIC MAN: Colossal Velocity: CD

Sep 22, 2016

Straightforward, no frills U.K. thrash—political but not preachy—and coming relentlessly full-tilt most of the way through. Less influenced by their American counterparts than, say, the Stupids were, this harkens back to the sweet spot in early ‘80s British hardcore when the tempos started really picking up steam, but before metal aspirations sent it all into a screeching halt. Given the band name, I was expecting a wholly different, trippier trip than this took me on, but this trip was not an unpleasant one in the least. –Jimmy Alvarado (TNS, tnsrecords.co.uk)
