Reacharounds continue the age-old tradition of playing creative, complex hardcore in the Midwest. Hailing from Springfield, Mo., they’ve been around for a bit, and it shows in all the best ways. Uncommonly sophisticated both musically and lyrically, they remind me of the early hardcore era where it wasn’t out of the realm of possibility for an out-there group like Mission Of Burma to take off. Two hundred of these were pressed on white vinyl, so hop on it fast. I bet they’re incredible live. They recorded this LP on a Tascam 38, with the beauty of 1/2” reel-to-reel tape capturing Reacharounds in all of their analog glory. The extra effort shows, as the recording is absolutely fabulous.
