Razorcake Podcast #546 with CJ Miller

This was an exceptionally lovely day with a lovely friend.

Let’s work against the hierarchies and limiting beliefs surrounding love. To love one thing or person does not diminish the love we can have for another thing or person. Love is not a finite resource. Some days we may not feel as though we have as much love to give... to ourselves included. Love and forgive yourself for that. But let it be known that love is not a controlled resource. Let’s defy the notions of love and joy as being finite commodities.

There will be days we feel as though our well springs of love and passion have run dry and mined for every last drop. But there will be days that return to us a well that overflows. Trust in that. And let’s deprogram ourselves of these ideas of scarcity or dominion. Kiss your friends. Hold their hands. Tell them you love them. Show affection. These things are not the province of monogamy reserved for one romantic partner. You can also have 6,666 favorite bands. It doesn’t make your love insincere or dilute the intensity of that love. It just means you love a lot of music and that today your well is full.
