Razorcake Podcast #419 with Dolly Chavez

These are a few of my favorite songs from some of my favorite local bands from the 805 area—ranging from Oxnard, Ventura, to Santa Barbara. Some of these bands are no longer together, which makes their music that much more special to me and many other people from my hometown. This is music that I grew up listening to that reminds me of being young and reckless and free from any real responsibilities. It also reminds me of the amazing talents many of these people have.

I can’t imagine I’d be the same person without this music in my life. As a teenager, I never really thought about how much music influenced me. It not only made me question authority but it made me question who I was. It helped me stay curious. It still does to this day.
