RATH & THE WISE GUYS: Rude, Crude, and Socially Unacceptable: CDEP

Sep 22, 2023

Imagine the wildest summer party you’ve ever been to. Now imagine a skate punk band playing in the middle of all the chaos. That band is Rath & The Wise Guys. I loved these party punks immediately upon hearing their DCxPC Live split release with The Kutoffs (which I reviewed back in issue 133). After submitting that review, I immediately went online and ordered Rude, Crude, and Socially Unacceptable. While a bit more polished than the gritty sound I loved in their live recording—not unexpected for a studio release—I still enjoyed every moment of this. The CD features six tracks, including “Melt My Brain” and “Nose Candy” from the live split. There are just enough tracks on here to get the party started and leave you wanting more. –Paul J.
