Two new tracks from the band fronted by Marco Reosti of Salinas Records. They’re like a soundtrack to an intimate conversation with a trusted friend. Quaker Wedding runs in the path well-worn by early ’90s emo and dips their toes in the college indie rock of the same era. What they do really well is pull a musical pastiche from twenty-five, thirty years ago and drop it in a song from today without it feeling jarring or out of place. Their sound sounds contemporary and decades old at the same time. The juxtaposition between Marco’s guttural vocals and these beautiful guitar tones is a nice intersection to be in. Plus the lyrics are heart wrenching and sincere in a very comforting way. These songs are lovely. I’m now feeling very teased by them as I anxiously wait for a full length. –Kayla Greet (Salinas)
