This weird, horror movie-themed synth punk album from Montreal’s Priors was foisted onto the world via Belgium’s Drink And Drive Records. More accessible than I expected, there’s almost a Slovenly Records vibe on many of the tracks. Song titles include “Videodrome” and “Fox Force Five.” The lyrics are silly and pun-laden, yet with a clever, brooding vibe beneath the surface. I like the electronic beats, which are seemingly overlaid with non-electronic percussion as well.
