Do you love Ride the Lightning and Kill ‘Em All-era Metallica but hate who Metallica have become? What about 1980s Anthrax? Or more recent stuff like Iron Reagan? Then Power Trip is the band for you! These eight songs create an ideal thirty-three minutes of thrash hardcore with memorable vocal hooks (“Executioner’s Tax,” “Waiting Around to Die,” and “If Not Us Then Who” had me mouthing lyrics as I shopped for groceries the other day). Also incorporating aspects of the sound of bands such as Suicidal Tendencies, this isn’t necessarily unique, but it’s catchy, fun, and has great guitar riffs that will no doubt lead to some awesome circle pits at Power Trip concerts.
