PMS & THE MOOD SWINGS: Self-titled: LP

Sounds like a super-low-energy version of Nikki & The Corvettes, or a merely regular-low-energy version of Shannon & The Clams. I’m honestly a bit startled that this record couldn’t deliver thirty minutes of dumb entertainment. That doesn’t seem too unreasonable a consumer demand to expect from a record with a drawing of a banana split on the back cover. The only interesting aspect of this record is how the lead guitar player keeps playing a lead throughout the entire song. Sometimes that comes off as engaging but the production here is so apathetic that a lot of the times it’s just annoying. I dub thee dud. BEST SONG: “Lifeguard Steve.”BEST SONG TITLE: “Meet Me in the Parking Lot.” FANTASTIC AMAZING TRIVIA FACT: The full-color center labels look very nice, good job on those.Rev.
