I don’t have a huge vocabulary to talk about improvisational jazz, so bear with me here. Three long upright bass-only pieces which take me back to Saturdays at Newbury Comics when we’d listen to nothing but the Mingus box set someone returned. Also, I’m reminded of that phase of Jandek’s career where he switched from intentionally tuneless guitar to fretless bass (not a dis).
