PAPA LIMA: Idiot Box: CS

Sep 22, 2023

These three tracks, according to the Hollow Life website, were recorded in 2017 and are only now being released. One might think that Papa Lima, one of the many bands in the vibrant scene in the Southwest of England, might not be represented well if that six-year lag is correct. That’s not the case though, as the Black Flag influence heard over just under five minutes here was clearly evident when I saw the band play a few weeks ago. That night I remember thinking of that comparison and this offering firmly cements what came to mind back then. It’s well done, with a ton of anger and attitude, even in such a short space of time. Good to have some music from the band, regardless of when it was recorded. –Rich Cocksedge (Hollow Life, hollowlife.bandcamp.com)
