OPEN WOUNDS: Self-titled: LP

Sep 26, 2019

Fast hardcore that had me check to make sure I wasn’t in 2004. Their sound owes much to the early oughts hardcore bands like Career Suicide and Dead Stop who in turn were heavily influenced by early the early ’80s classics such as Jerry’s Kids, the Faith, et cetera. As is per usual with this style, Open Wounds is neither Earth shattering-ly great or even bad for that matter. They’re competent at a time when most of this style is cringingly boring. –Juan Espinosa (Refuse, refuserecords.bandcamp.com, refusemusic.net, [email protected])
