Seven songs recorded in 2001 by an extremely short-lived Oakland band that mixed bratty post-punk and garage. Think “practice tape of Erase Errata fighting The Gr’ups.” Song titles include “Crotch Rot,” “Bounced Check,” and “Fist Me.” Open Mike Knight were only around for about six months, and it sounds like they were still gelling as a band when they laid these tracks down, but this short run of vinyl ought to mean a lot to their friends. I wish I’d been there. –Chris Terry (Jabs Jabs Jabs, jabsjabsjabs.com)
