The latest in the Tor Johnson Records’ 20th Anniversary Subscription Series, No Trigger and Save Ends team up to each bring a new original song and a cover of each other to this split. No Trigger’s poppy sound didn’t really do much for me, either on their original “Sleep Over,” or their cover of Save Ends’ “Heavy Hearts.” Save Ends were a bit more interesting with their dual vocals on the original “Baseball Awesome” and their cover of No Trigger’s “More to Offer.” This is probably my least favorite release in the subscription series, but it does a good job of highlighting the wide variety of different-sounding bands the label has worked with over the last two decades. Both bands have strong followings, so I imagine this being a sought-after release. –Paul J. Comeau (Tor Johnson, [email protected])
