Nations On Fire were a Belgian hardcore band from the early ’90s who focused primarily on sociopolitical topics. Their lyrics are extremely blunt and to the point, so much so that they fail to deliver any real impact or thought provocation (“Death of the pro lifer, long overdue, and if you don’t agree, fuck you.”) Musically, this falls somewhere between cry-core era 7 Seconds (New Wind), DC’s Embrace, and could have possibly fit in somewhere on the Give Me Back compilation. Never mind the god awful dance track on the second side. I’m not sure that this record needed a reissue. Sometimes music is obscure and forgotten for a reason. –Juan Espinosa (Refuse, refusemusic.net)
