With a name like Muscle Dungeon, my expectations were subbasement low. But, boy, I feel stupid for doubting these Portland, Ore. punks because Beef Angel is fantastic. They blend Marked Men and Hickey, sweating a similar odor to that of California’s Weird Night (formerly White Night). Song titles like “Bong Jovi,” “Doom Saloon,” and “Deep Whiff” mask Muscle Dungeon’s airtight execution of straight-ahead, melody-driven punk.
