MUD CITY MANGLERS: Give Me the Hammer: LP

Pittsburgh’s Mud City Manglers have been a band for twenty-five years, so even though this is their second LP, the Manglers are hardly new to any of it. They put out a number of 7”s over the years, but there was a two-decade gap between their first album and Give Me the Hammer. A superlative Motörhead-influenced recording, the twelve tracks on this LP represent the ultimate sound for those into 1977 stylings that don’t have an aversion to lead guitar lines. Available in the U.S. from Spaghetty Town Records, it’s also attainable in Europe via both Beluga Records and Ghost Highway Recordings. Essential for those into heavy, loud bar punk. Let’s hope that we don’t have to wait for decades for a third LP from these masters. –Art Ettinger (Spaghetty Town, / Beluga / Ghost Highway)
