MORWAN: Svitaye, Palaye: LP

Jan 24, 2024

If the aliens from Close Encounters of the Third Kind ever host carnally-informed rituals where they gather en masse in the fields while a high priest wails on a mountaintop just before they sacrifice a space virgin for purposes of bribing the space gods into goosing up the space harvest and then follow this up with frenzied and impassioned games of Space Dance Dance Revolution and cosmic bowling, I would be willing to wager that this is the music being played throughout the proceedings. Of course, since Mr. Morwan is from Kyiv, there might be some heavy cultural context at play here to which I should attempt to be better sensitized, but sometimes you just gotta call ’em as you see ’em. Fight the power, Space Brother! BEST SONG: It’s kind of a tossup between “Syayesh” and “Poletily.” BEST SONG TITLE: “Vidchuvayesh” was an early favorite, but now I’m leaning towards “Hrim.” FANTASTIC AMAZING TRIVIA FACT: I got three releases from Feel It Records to review this issue and this is the only one of the three where the artist wasn’t from Richmond, Va. –Rev. Nørb (Feel It)
