In the mood for some really good skate punk? Like your skate punk tight, heavy, and melodic? How do you feel about The Lawrence Arms? Then I give you Moonraker. Their Bandcamp bio describes them as “The Michael Jordan of Baseball of Punk Rock” which, truthfully, isn’t that far off. The Forest is an innovative album (there’s violins) but it doesn’t stray to far from Moonraker’s obvious influences. What we have is a unique but tried and true punk album. There’s nothing wrong with staying in the sport you’re used to and Moonraker drives that point home. –Caitlin Santavenere (Bypolar, [email protected])
