MEGAMOON-X: Teradisco: CD

Jan 24, 2024

The first song repeats a droning melody for a full minute before anything really happens. I find myself wishing it had stayed boring because the vocals that follow are tough to listen to. High reverb, distant, off-key shout-singing. Like stumbling across the drunkest karaoke singer at the bar. My partner described it as being “aggressively meh.” Just never really goes anywhere. It’s synth-heavy, 8-bit-adjacent chiptune, spooky-ish. I could see someone’s cousin Gary commissioning this record for his Halloween haunted house party. The last track is eight and a half minutes long and definitely the biggest drag of the whole disc. –Kayla Greet (Fabric Flower)
