Narcissistic Synth Pop Disorder is an inquisitive quarantine-related project from Robi Tuono of the band Megadrive. Tuono took his punk band’s latest album and reimagined it as a synth pop release. It’s common for pop punk to get reissued acoustically, but I can’t think of other examples of full pop punk albums redone as synth pop. More than just a comical experiment, the end result is a fun, danceable oddity that’s worth checking out beyond the inherent curio factor. It’s an extremely limited CD-only release, so don’t sleep on it. –Art Ettinger (Mom’s Basement, momsbasementrecords.bigcartel.com)
